How Can I Write Like An Expert When I Don’t Think That I Am?

How Can I Write Like An Expert When I Don’t Think That I Am?

Is there a subject or hobby that you enjoy or know a lot about?  If so, you can become an expert.  Is there a subject that you would like to know more about?  If so, you can become an expert.

First, make a list of ten or more subjects that you know a lot about or are interested in.  Can’t think of that many?  Ask your relatives or friends to help. They may have more ideas about the things you are knowledgeable about than you do.  Do they ask you questions and you give them advice?  If so, you have knowledge about that subject.

Once you have your subject selected, do a little research to see if there is any interest in the subject.  It is of little use to write an ebook on a subject when there is no demand or interest.  Do a search on eBay, Google or any of the other search engines, or check Overture to see how many people are actually looking for information on the subject you selected.  If there is an interest, proceed with your ebook.  If not, pick another subject from your list.

Once you have concluded that there is an interest in your topic, that you are sincerely interested in the topic, and that you can provide honest and informative information that people want, you are almost ready to begin writing your ebook.

If you think you still do not have enough knowledge or want to learn more, you can do some research from books or by going online and using one of the search engines.  Information is all around us.  We just have to seek it out.  You don’t have to know every detail of a subject but should be knowledgeable enough to write a very informative ebook.  As long as you are providing information that your readers want and need, you can become an expert.

Now, before you actually start writing your ebook, you need to determine who will be most interested in your topic.  Is your targeted group going to be male or female?  What approximate age group are they in?  Is your topic geared toward a particular ethnic group?

Once you have determined who you are writing to and that they do indeed have an interest, you are then ready to start writing.  Remember to keep it informative.  Tell them something that they don’t already know.  Make it interesting.  You don’t want to lose their attention at this point, you want them to keep reading.

Don’t stop just because you wrote one ebook.  Continue with your research and write another ebook on the same subject.  Since this information is going to be unique from the first ebook, you have now a second expert volume on your subject that you can earn additional money from.

If you don’t like to write or feel that you just can’t, you can always hire someone to write the ebook for you.  There are several place online where you can hire a write.  You could try elance.com, guru.com or rentacoder.com.  There are more, just do a search on one of the search engines.  You provide them with an outline and they will write the ebook for you.  You then add your name as author.

Perhaps you have a friend or relative who is an expert on a subject.  You can team up with them and do a “joint venture.”  They provide the information and write the ebook, or you can jointly write the ebook.  You can then market the ebook and split the profits.

The hardest part of all of this is getting motivated to start writing.  Once you start, you will be challenged to get it finished and start earning money from your ebook.

Don’t give up.  You can do this!

How Many eBay Accounts Do You Have?

Saturday, September 9th, 2006

If you use eBay as a means of generating income, you want to have more than one eBay account.  Yes, eBay does allow multiple accounts.  The only requirement that eBay has regarding multiple accounts is that each account have a different email address.  This could change, so be sure to keep current with eBay policy.

By having multiple eBay accounts, you can set up one account to buy from and one account to sell from.  When you do this, you are protecting your seller’s account from negative feedback.

How does this protect you from negative feedback?  Let’s say you make a purchase on your buyer’s account and the product is defective.  You contact the seller and he is less than cooperative.  Sound familiar?  You can leave negative feedback for this seller without fear of them leaving bad feedback for you and it affecting your seller’s account.  Why?  Because you didn’t use your seller’s account.  You used your buyer’s account.

You can also have several eBay accounts that you sell from.  Design each account around a different niche.  By doing this, you can become an “expert” in each niche.  You can generate a lot of extra money by having more that one niche that you sell in.

Design your About Me Page around each niche.  You can earn more in back end sales when you are seen as an expert.  Set up a website around each of your eBay niche accounts.  You can direct traffic from your About Me Page to your websites.  Just be absolutely certain that the items you sell on your website are not the identical items you are selling on your eBay auctions.  That is against eBay policy.

For example, if you are selling digital cameras on one of your eBay accounts, you could sell accessories for digital cameras on your website.  You can have another eBay account set up to sell pet supplies, and direct them to your website might be selling pet food.  You could also have a website that offered affiliate products related to your eBay auction.  As long as it is not the same item that is in your auction.

eBay always has the right to shut an account down.  eBay can also impose a “black-out” of your account.  If you unintentionally violate policy and your seller’s account is shut down, it could cost you a lot of money in lost sales.

By having more than one eBay account, you have certain amount of protection.  You can move over to one of your other accounts and start selling from it.  This eliminates the need to start with zero feedback.

Please be aware that even if you have several accounts and you violate eBay policy, this will not protect you.  If eBay closes one account they will search for other accounts using your IP address or name and could close them also.

Always keep current on eBay policy.  They can change anything at any time.  Ignorance of a policy change is not an acceptable excuse if you commit a violation.

The moral here is to never, ever violate eBay policy.

How Can I Make Money With Blogs

Friday, September 8th, 2006

Blogging for profit is a goal many people hope to be able to obtain.  This endeavor is not out of reach for someone with a willingness to work and who has a knowledge of blogging.  Very few people, however, ever obtain the profits they want from their blog because they fail to have a plan.

There are two reasons most people who try to make money with their blogs do not succeed.  One reason is that bloggers often think that “if I build it, they will come”. This expectation is unrealistic.  They often expect their readership to grow immediately and begin producing money just as quickly.  This just does not happen.  The other reason is that a lot of bloggers fail to have a realistic plan. The key to making money as a blogger is to have a realistic plan and sticking with it.  When these expectations are not met, this disappointment often puts an end to their willingness to continue blogging. Some think that blogging is more “work” than they thought it would be.  If you want to make money using blogs, you have to treat is as a business and a business requires work.

To be a success at earning money with blogs, you will need a lot of traffic. The more traffic that comes to your blog, the more likely you are to make sales.  However, obtaining the regular visitors that you need isn’t easy. Because more blogs are started each and every day, there is a lot of competition.  You need to keep your content fresh, unique, informative and interesting.  Once people know that you have content on your blog that is updated regularly with useful information, they will return to your site.  However, as mentioned above the “if I build it, they will come” approach just doesn’t happen.

You also have to market your blog.  You can have the most interesting and informative information there ever was put on a blog, but if you don’t get visitors to your blog, who is going to read it.  If you have a brick-and-mortar business, you advertise.  A blog needs to be treated the same, you advertise.

You need to spend time getting your blog noticed.  Take some time to visit other blogs and making a comment or visit forums related to your blog and make a post.  Always be helpful and informative, and be sure to add your blog address with your signature, thereby creating a link to your blog.

If you’re an affiliate, try writing a review of the affiliate product you are marketing.  You might find that it will get added to the products sales page if the review is honest and informative.  Again, be sure to add your blog address with your signature.

It may take several months to build the traffic to make your blog profitable.  Make a realistic plan and stick with it.  To keep on track, make a daily schedule.  Spend a set amount of time adding content to your blog, writing articles, visiting other blogs, visiting forums, and, if you are an affiliate, reviewing products to promote.  Set a goal and when that goal is reached, set another one.  Don’t set unrealistic goals as this will only discourage you.  Don’t get discouraged, it takes time to build traffic to get the readers you want.

Earning money with blogs is a business.  It takes time and patience to build a successful blog.  It doesn’t matter if you are a marketing genius or have the best blog on the internet, success takes time.  Staying motivated and setting goals will reward you with success.

Can I Really Make Money Promoting Affiliate Programs

Friday, September 8th, 2006

There are several ways to start making money as an affiliate.  The first thing you need to do is to find two or three affiliates that you would like to promote.  These should be products in the same general niche.  A good place to start looking is on Clickbank, Commission Junction, PayDotCom or Affiliate First.  You could also do a search in Google for affiliate programs.  Do your homework.  Check out their site and read their sales letter.  Is this a program that you would buy?  If not, move on to another program.

The next thing you need to do is to get a domain name and a reliable web hosting account, or you can set up a blog on one of the many blog websites.  You want a web host or a blog site that can be depended on.  Whichever way you go, be sure to check them out.  There is nothing worse than having your website or blog goes down.  If your host is down, you don’t make any money, visitors can’t access your site and your credibility goes down the tubes.

Now that you have picked out your products and have gotten your site set up, you need to start promoting the products on your site.  The least expensive way is by writing articles.  You can write articles pertaining to the general topic of your products or you can write a review of the products themselves.  Don’t forget to add your signature block with your web address.  People need know how to find you on the web.  Once you have your articles written, you need to submit them to the article directories.  Once the articles are published, they will be read and, hopefully, picked up by other internet marketers and placed on their sites, emails or newsletters.  These articles will be used with your web address which will create back links to your site.

You can also write an ebook and offer it for free on your website or blog.  Yes, I said free.  People love things that are free.  When you write the ebook, you will be placing links to your site or blog, or you will use the affiliate link you received when you signed up with the affiliate program, though out the ebook.  When the reader clicks on the links, it will take them to your site or to the affiliate’s sales page.

Another way to promote your site is with Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising.  The most popular PPC program is Google’s adwords.  You will need to set up an account and create your ads.  It is best to set up a couple of small ads targeting a few keywords each.  After you have your ads created, you will need to bid on keywords related to your products.  To keep the costs down, you can set a limit as to how much is spent in single day.  Please remember that PPC advertising can get very expensive, very quickly because every time someone clicks on your ad, you are charged for that click.  By setting up more than one ad, you can also find out which keywords are getting the most traffic and concentrate on those more.

Don’t get discouraged.  It usually takes several weeks for the search engine spiders to crawl your site and get you listed in the search result pages.  You will probably find that you will get traffic faster from the article directories as your articles are picked up and republished.

Can I Really Earn Money With Articles and Adsense

Friday, September 8th, 2006

The question regarding making money using articles and adsense has been asked many times.  The doubters will tell you that it’s not possible.  If that were true, there would not be so many people making their living writing articles for their Adsense sites.

In order to make money with Adsense, you need to find a profitable niche.  When you are just starting out, you should pick a niche that you have some interest in.  By doing this you will be more interested and it will not be quite as challenging for you to write your articles.  If you are interested in gardening, you could write articles about different plants, soil conditions, watering, the best planting times or even about those pesky insects that invade your garden.  The possibilities are limitless.  When you become more comfortable writing articles and have your site profiting for you, you might then try a niche that is new to you.  Go to the search engines and do a search for whatever niche you want to try and research that topic.  You might find that you have more of an interest in that topic than you thought.

When writing your articles, be precise, be informative, and by all means, don’t tell them the same thing that everyone else is telling them.  Make your articles new and interesting.  Give them unique content.  Don’t write one or two articles and think that will be enough.  You need to keep writing, keeping your site full of fresh content.  Don’t forget to put your name and website address at the end of your article in the resource box.  As you write articles that are interesting, other website may pick up your article and publish it on their site or in their newsletter, thereby driving additional traffic to your site.

By keeping your content fresh and informative, the search engines will spider your site more often.  The search engines love new and unique content.  They will make numerous trips to your site if you keep adding to it.  The more often they visit, the higher in the ratings you can go.

You need to also submit your articles to the article directories.  Each article directory has its own submission guidelines so before you submit be sure to check their guidelines out.  Make sure your resource box is included with the article when you submit it.  Without this resource box, readers will not know who wrote the article or how to get more information from your site.  These visitors will also help increase your search engine ratings.

When you sign up for Google’s Adsense program, they will place Adsense ads on your site that are directly related to the topic that you are writing about.  Google does this work for you.  When a visitor clicks on one of the ads, you are paid for that click.  The amount you are paid depends on what the advertiser is paying for that ad and only Google knows that.  The more traffic that comes to your site, and the higher your click through rate (CTR) is, the more money you can make.

It’s not as hard as it may appear.  The hardest part is getting started and keeping the momentum going.  Don’t give up.  It can take several weeks for your site to get traffic.  The most important thing though is to keep the articles going to your site.  If you want, you can also ad articles written by others, just be sure to include their resource box.
